St. Regis bank robbed by "thin and tiny" motorcyclist

Authorities in Mineral County were combing the area Tuesday in search of a bank robber.

A "thin and tiny" person wearing a black motorcycle helmet with a ski mask under it robbed the Mullan Trail Bank in St. Regis at approximately 1:45 p.m.

A press release from the Mineral County sheriff's department identified the suspect as a white male, approximately 5-foot-4 to 5-6 in height, thin and tiny.

He left the scene on a small red motorcycle.

A sheriff's department dispatcher said aspects of the St. Regis bank robbery resembled others in Bigfork and Lakeside last September and November, respectively. In each case, a male wearing a motorcycle helmet was identified as the culprit.

In Bigfork, a man estimated as standing 5-7 to 5-9 entered the First Interstate Bank on Highway 35 at about 4:30 p.m. on a Friday and demanded cash, then fled on foot.
